The Lake District Tea Co has won its first national award.
The business, based in the South Lakes, picked up a bronze award in the Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards.
It won for its Earlwick Grey tea, which was only launched late last year.
The Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards assess the overall business model behind each product.
Judges reviews every aspect, including the value chain and branding, alongside taste, ensuring products are not only great tasting but also well-positioned to succeed in the independent retail sector.
Judges included well-known retailers and wholesalers such as Fortnum & Mason, Booths, The Gorgeous Food Company, Cotswold Fayre and Diverse Fine Foods.
The Lake District Tea Co said: “We’re over the moon to have won our first national award, especially one where the judging process is so rigorous and carried out by such highly regarded food and beverage industry experts.
“This is the first year we’ve entered any awards, so to receive a bronze at our first attempt in the Farm Shop & Deli Product Awards is a huge pat on the back for everyone behind the scenes, including those involved in the design, retail and distribution of every product we create.
“We’re all absolutely delighted, and it recognises the team’s efforts in helping to make the business a success.”
