A Lake District restaurant has won a national award for its wine list.
The Old Stamp House in Ambleside was given the accolade by the Star Wine List of the Year Awards for the UK in the Best Short List category, which recognises the best wine list with fewer than 200 listings.
The awards, now in their sixth year in the UK, took place on Monday, March 23, with 66 finalists in contention.
Laurentiu Bulprich, The Old Stamp House’s restaurant manager and head sommelier, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to receive our first-ever silver award at the Star Wine List of the Year Awards in the Best Short List category.
“It’s a real honour to be recognised in such a competitive field, especially given the strength and diversity of wine programmes across the UK.
“Our list is carefully curated to balance classic European regions with exciting new wave producers from around the world.
“Above all, we aim to champion vibrant, grower-driven wines that surprise our guests and complement the menus offered at The Old Stamp House.”
