Torpenhow Farmhouse Dairy won the Sustainable Business of the Year category.
When farmers Jenny and Mark Lee noticed a few nozzles on their boom sprayer were blocked, it left a strip of field free from herbicide.
When they later brought in their herd, every cow headed for that strip, to graze on grass, native clover, chicory, herbs, dandelion and legumes.
That lightbulb moment led to organic accreditation and a commitment to regenerative farming, a healthy ecosystem and a self-confessed obsession with dung beetles at their farm and cheese producing dairy business.
