The Pie Mill won the Food Producer of the Year category.
Our traditional Cumbrian handmade pies are made using hand trimmed meats from Cumbria, all other ingredients are sourced locally.
This ensures the best quality pie available to our customers, with sumptuous fillings, fabulous textures and most of all, delicious flavours.
The Pie Mill was opened in 2005. The original savoury pie range was all named after local fells, Blencathra (Beef in Ale) and Skiddaw (Steak & Kidney) being their first.
Now the range is so extensive they have run out of local fell names!
The range of over 50 varieties now includes fruit pies and a deli pie range.
All pies are made on site daily using the best quality local ingredients, following traditional recipes.
We make all our own pastry on site every day as well as the mixtures, seasoning and stock for the pies and we pride ourselves that our pies are not full of additives and preservatives.
In September 2022 Amanda won an Enterprise Vision Award for Hospitality. Amanda said at the time: “I dedicated the award to my dad as The Pie Mill was always his dream.”
